Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-18
This Privacy Policy explains how RiddleWick (the "App"), provided by Alex Naumov ("we", "us"), handles information when you use the App. We designed RiddleWick to be privacy-respecting: there are no user accounts, no ads, and we do not sell your data.
Summary
- We collect anonymous usage analytics and crash diagnostics to understand how the App is used and to fix problems.
- We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or other directly identifying information inside the App.
- We do not show advertising and do not track you across other apps or websites.
- You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Help improve RiddleWick.
Information we collect
When analytics is enabled, the App uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google) to collect:
- Usage / interaction data — events such as app opens, screens viewed, which games are started and completed, difficulty, and similar in-app actions.
- Approximate, non-identifying technical data — device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and coarse region/country inferred from your IP address (your full IP address is not retained by us as an identifier).
- Crash diagnostics — crash logs, error traces, and device state at the time of a crash, to diagnose stability issues.
This data is not linked to your identity and is used only in aggregate. The App does not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, or advertising identifier (IDFA).
How we use the information
- To understand which features and games are used, and to improve the App.
- To detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and bugs.
- To monitor overall, aggregate product performance.
We do not use this information for advertising, profiling for marketing, or to identify you personally.
Legal basis (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR applies, our processing of analytics and crash data relies on your consent (the in-app toggle) and on our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving a stable App. You may withdraw consent at any time via the in-app toggle.
Sharing and processors
Analytics and crash data are processed by Google as our service provider (Firebase). We do not sell personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Google processes the data on our behalf under its terms; see Google's privacy documentation for details on Firebase data handling.
Data retention
Aggregated analytics and crash data are retained for a limited period in accordance with Firebase's default retention settings and then deleted or anonymized. Game progress, statistics, and settings are stored locally on your device and are removed when you delete the App.
Your choices and rights
- Opt out of analytics: Settings → Help improve RiddleWick → off. When off, the App disables analytics and crash-data collection.
- Local data: uninstalling the App removes all locally stored progress and settings.
- Depending on your region (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to processing. Because the data we collect is anonymous and not linked to your identity, we may be unable to associate it with a specific individual; you can still contact us with any request (see below).
Children's privacy
RiddleWick is a general-audience puzzle app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
International transfers
Data processed by Firebase may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country. Where required, such transfers are carried out under appropriate safeguards by the service provider.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and posting the revised policy at this URL.
